The Challenge

Not every organisation has the luxury of unlimited space.

Cre8tive Space was commissioned to transform a modest 10,000 sq ft leased office into a workplace capable of supporting two distinct security classifications within a single floorplate.

Conventional thinking would suggest separate premises, duplicated facilities or significant compromises. The challenge was to prove otherwise.

The objective was to create an environment where employees could move seamlessly between day-to-day business operations and highly secure activities, whilst ensuring each environment maintained its own integrity and accreditation requirements.

Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of the finished workplace is that many employees remain completely unaware that classified spaces exist within the office at all.

That isn't an accident.

It's exactly how it was designed.

Intelligent Design Creates Capability

Successfully accommodating multiple security classifications within a relatively small footprint demanded far more than simply installing secure rooms.

Every square metre had to work harder.

The design carefully balanced operational workflows, circulation routes, access control, physical security, acoustic separation, infrastructure and user experience to ensure each environment functioned independently whilst remaining part of a cohesive workplace.

Rather than allowing security to dominate the design, the project focused on integrating protective measures so naturally that the office continued to feel open, modern and welcoming.

For most occupants, it simply feels like a well-designed workplace.

Only those with the appropriate need to know experience the layers beyond.

Security Through Discretion

One of the greatest measures of success on projects such as Project Gemini is not what people notice.

It's what they don't.

Different security classifications operate side by side, supported by carefully considered zoning, resilient infrastructure and discreet physical protection measures, all without creating an atmosphere of restriction or secrecy.

Access to classified areas is tightly controlled, yet nothing about the wider workplace feels unusual.

Visitors are welcomed into a professional office environment.

Most employees go about their day entirely unaware that highly secure operational capability exists just metres away.

Security has become part of the building's fabric rather than a visible feature.
